Q: Do I qualify for an NHS funded eye examination?
A: You are entitled to a NHS funded home eye examination if you are:

Aged 60 or over

Under 16, or below 19 and in full time education

Registered blind or partially sighted

Diagnosed as having diabetes or glaucoma

40 or over with a direct relative with glaucoma, or you have been advised by an ophthalmologist that you are at risk of glaucoma

prescribed complex lenses
If you or your partner is in receipt of any of the following, you are entitled to a NHS funded eye examination, and may receive assistance towards spectacles or contact lenses:

Income Based Jobseekers Allowance

Working Tax Credit (named on a Tax Credit NHS Exemption Certificate)

Child Tax Credit (named on a Tax Credit NHS Exemption Certificate)

You are named on a NHS Certificate for Full help with health costs (HC2)
Important Note:
If you qualify for any of the above and are unable to attend a High Street Optician unaccompanied, you are entitled to a NHS funded eye examination at your home
Q: Will you visit my home to carry out an examination for 1 person?
A: Yes we will. We need to give the NHS 48 Hours notice to comply with the guidelines for home eye examinations
Q: Will the examination cost me anything?
A: No, the funding for the eye examination is covered by the NHS as long as you qualify for NHS assistance, and are NOT able to visit a High Street Optician unaccompanied.
Q: Do I have to pay for new spectacles?
A: No, we have a comprehensive range of frames that are FREE to you with the NHS Optical Voucher
